About

Hey there- my name is Brittany Castaneda, I'm a Harvard graduate (BA, c/o 2007) living in New York, pursuing my MBA (NYU Stern, c/o 2013).

After a whirlwind of experiences in my relatively short professional career- from licensing at a major cable network (read: I made awesome toys), being affected by the economic downturn, throw into the terrible NYC job-search market from 2008-2009, to business development at an amazing not-for-profit - well, needless to say I've gone through quite a bit, and feel the need to start putting some of my experiences on (digital) paper.

Before you ask: No, I am not a writer.  I have not started this blog in hopes of being discovered or getting some sort of book deal.  I didn't study Journalism or English in college and I've never worked at any sort of publisher.  I just have tons of ideas rattling around my brain that I want to get out there!

The most important thing is my main motivation for this blog, which is closely connected to my own experiences.  I found (and continue to find) myself wondering constantly if anyone else had gone through what I was dealing with, and where I could go for resources as a young woman of color who is still navigating the professional world.  I'd ask friends, google, or just sit and whine until I figured out what to do.

So.  I have some answers.  Clearly I don't have them all, but I'm sharing what I know- along with a few other things I find interesting.
